Are you totally in shock? I know I am, but I had some good and worth while stuff to post so here I go...
After Brooklyn's April hospital stay, following a really bad winter for David, we were given a referral to go up to Primary Children's. Friday, we took both kids to their appointments at PCMC's asthma clinic. We were given a new med routine to try. We'll see how that goes. Then, they sent Brooklyn down the hall to the dermatology department to have her birth mark examined. It has started to change in the last few weeks(color, size, shape, etc) and that concerns us all. We are now scheduling an appointment with the pediatric plastic surgeon to have it removed. Today we got a call back on the blood/allergy testing from the asthma clinic. They both have elevated IGE levels(meaning they are more prone to having allergies), but normal antibody levels(good for fighting off infections). Brooklyn came back negative on all the allergy tests, but David is moderately allergic to cats and house hold dust. It's been a lot to take in, but it's given us new answers and a new plan of attack for both kids' asthma.
This weekend Jon and I were also able to attend the first annual Bobby Lawrence Karate retreat. For those of you that don't know, Jon started back at Karate a few months ago and it has been really good for him. After 12 years of being a 1st degree, he will finally be testing for his 2nd degree black belt in November(and maybe his 3rd in April). The retreat was AMAZING! It was so great for me to get to know the Karate gang better and we were both able to relax and enjoy some time away from the kids(who were being spoiled at Grandma's). Even 6am sword practice was fun! I loved the whole experience so much that I've finally decided that I want to start doing it too! Thanks again to the Lawrence's for hosting it and Carrie Ann and everyone else that put so much work into a wonderful weekend!
Jon left Monday for his bi-monthly business trip to Connecticut. We all miss him when he's gone, but love that he's been so blessed to have such a great job. He'll be back Friday! He is still loving this new job and they love him. We really do feel so blessed that he has such a great job!
I went and saw Eclipse with Angle and the girls. We wore our shirts that we had made for the Breaking Dawn release party and have worn to all the movie premiers so far. They same 'Team Edward' on the front and 'Screw being a Princess I want to be a Vampire' on the back. We always have so much fun with all of the other crazy twilight fans. It was the best movie of the series so far IMO.
The kids have also been doing swimming lessons again this year and love it. Brooklyn is in her own class this year and thinks its pretty cool that her teacher's name is Brooke =) Grandma Denise sits by the pool and watches Brooklyn's class. David and I are in the mom and tot class again and got Angel and Jason to come with us. Jason is a little fish and it's so fun to watch him in the water.
I'm working a little bit at the credit union this summer, but have been really busy with the kids, working on getting our yard in (finally) and of course Brookie's Closet/David's Dresser stuff.
Well that's what we've been up to. I'm hoping it won't be anther 6 months before my next post =)
