Like I mentioned before, the kids and I went to California to visit the Giles family and help out after Em's surgery. The kids really loved being with their cousins. They had actually been out there a few weeks before when Em & Chad helped us out by watching them for a week when Jon started his new job and I had committed to days at the credit union. Brooklyn spent enough time there that she has now conquered her fear of not only Hennessey (the dog), but also her fear of her Uncle Chad. We we're planning on staying for 3 weeks, but only made it 2 because we all got sick. It was a lot of fun thought and we were really glad we could be there to help while Em recovered. We are also glad that Em's recovery has been pretty fast and it seems to have done the trick. I some how didn't get any pictures while we were there, but I got some fun ones of our drive.
It is about a 9 hour drive (11 with kids) from our house to Auntie Em's. The kids did really well there and back which was really surprising to me especially because we had just made the trip a few weeks before. They slept a lot which helped.

Last Christmas we drove to Oregon and had to stop in Winemucca. Our tire chains ripped through our brake line, so it was pretty much a mandatory stay while we got it fixed. I am glad you had a much happier visit there. I love that she calls it "Old McDonald's" !
